Privacy & data protection

Privacy Notice

This notice explains what information PrintCuro processes when you visit the website, use the Connector, redeem a reset key or contact support, and how that information is protected.

Who is responsible for your data?

PrintCuro acts as the controller for personal data processed through the PrintCuro website, Connector and reset service.

OperatorPrintCuro

What information we process

When you use a reset key

  • Printer model and series
  • Printer serial number
  • Redemption date and time
  • Reset result and verification/readback result
  • Connector/software version
  • Support/reference ID generated for the transaction
  • Your IP address, temporarily, for security and fraud prevention

When you buy a reset key

  • Your email address
  • Order reference, order status and timestamps (created, paid, fulfilled, refunded)
  • Price and currency of the order
  • Payment-provider transaction identifiers issued by Stripe (PrintCuro does not itself store your full card details)
  • A coarse region/country signal used to determine the applicable currency
  • Delivery status of the transactional order-confirmation email
  • A short-lived order access token stored only in your browser's sessionStorage, used to retrieve your key on the Success page (see the Website section below)
  • If you actively confirmed the withdrawal-consent checkbox on the Buy page, the timestamp of that confirmation and a short internal version label for the checkbox text you saw — stored as part of the order record to document that step of the contract, not for any separate tracking purpose

Key handling

PrintCuro does not store your reset key in plaintext. Where a persistent key identifier is needed, only a one-way cryptographic hash is stored.

Support communications

If you contact support, we may process the information you provide, such as your reference code, order or marketplace reference, email address, message content and any diagnostic information you choose to send.

Information we do not intentionally store

  • Your reset key in plaintext
  • Raw printer command bytes or protocol payloads
  • Raw operating-system device paths

Why we process data and our legal bases

Purpose Examples of data Typical legal basis*
Provide and verify the reset service Printer model, serial number, reset result, timestamps, key hash Performance of a contract / steps requested before or during service delivery
Process payment and deliver your reset key by email Email address, order reference, price/currency, Stripe transaction identifiers, email delivery status (processed by our payment provider Stripe and our transactional email provider Resend) Performance of a contract
Prevent fraud, abuse and duplicate redemption Key hash, transaction evidence, temporary IP address, result data Legitimate interests in protecting the service, users and transactions
Handle support, disputes and transaction questions Reference ID, support messages, order/reference data, reset evidence Contract performance and legitimate interests in resolving disputes
Meet legal, accounting or regulatory obligations where applicable Transaction and support records that must be preserved by law Compliance with legal obligations
Optional analytics or non-essential cookies, if enabled in the future Usage/analytics identifiers Consent where required

* The exact legal basis can depend on the country whose data-protection law applies to the user and the processing activity.

How long we keep information

IP address: retained for a maximum of 30 days for security and fraud-prevention purposes, then automatically removed from the reset records.

Reset and redemption evidence: printer model, serial number, result, timestamps, key hash and related reference information may be retained longer where necessary to maintain transaction records, prevent fraud, provide support, handle payment/marketplace disputes or establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

Support records: retained for as long as reasonably necessary to resolve the request and any related dispute, and longer where required by applicable legal obligations.

Order, payment and email-delivery records: order reference, price/currency, payment-provider transaction identifiers, order status, timestamps and email delivery status are kept using the same purpose-based criteria described below (transaction and accounting records, fraud prevention, support, and legal obligations). PrintCuro does not state a single fixed number of days for these records where none is technically or legally fixed; where a fixed period does apply — such as the 30-day IP address limit above — it is stated explicitly.

Where a fixed retention period cannot reasonably be stated, PrintCuro uses the purpose of the record, applicable limitation periods, fraud-prevention needs and legal obligations as the criteria for deletion or anonymisation.

Who may receive information

PrintCuro does not sell personal data. Information may be disclosed only where necessary to operate, secure and support the service, including to hosting/infrastructure providers, professional advisers, payment or marketplace providers involved in a transaction, and public authorities where disclosure is legally required.

Transactional email provider: Resend

PrintCuro sends order-confirmation and key-delivery emails through Resend, our transactional email provider. Only the data necessary to send that email is transmitted to Resend — specifically your recipient email address and the content of the transactional email. Your order access token (the short-lived capability token described in the Website section below) is never sent to Resend. PrintCuro does not use marketing email or embed tracking pixels in these emails.

International transfers

Because PrintCuro is an international service, personal data may be processed in countries outside your country of residence. Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers, PrintCuro will rely on an available lawful transfer mechanism or other appropriate safeguards.

Website logs, cookies and local storage

Order access token (checkout only)

After a successful payment, the Buy page stores your order reference and a short-lived order access token in your browser's sessionStorage — never in localStorage and never in the page URL. This token is used only to let the Success page retrieve your reset key for that specific order. sessionStorage is cleared automatically when the browser tab or session ends.

Like most websites, the server necessarily processes connection information such as an IP address, requested page, date/time and technical request information in order to deliver the website and protect it from abuse.

Strictly necessary cookies or local-storage entries may be used where required to provide a requested function or remember an essential preference. Non-essential analytics, advertising or cross-site tracking technologies should not be activated without the consent required by applicable law.

If PrintCuro later introduces optional analytics or marketing technologies, this notice and the website's consent controls must be updated before those technologies are enabled.

How we protect information

PrintCuro uses technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data against accidental loss, unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration and misuse. Examples include access controls, limited data collection, one-way hashing of reset keys, restricted retention of IP addresses and separation of public website functionality from privileged administrative functions.

Your privacy rights

Depending on the law that applies to you and the processing activity, you may have some or all of the following rights:

AccessAsk whether your personal data is processed and request a copy.
CorrectionAsk for inaccurate or incomplete data to be corrected.
DeletionRequest deletion where legal conditions are met.

ObjectionObject to processing based on legitimate interests where applicable.
PortabilityReceive certain data in a portable format where the legal requirements apply.
Withdraw consentWithdraw consent at any time for processing based on consent.
ComplaintLodge a complaint with the competent data-protection authority.

To exercise a right, contact PrintCuro and provide enough information to identify the relevant transaction or account without sending unnecessary personal data. A support/reference ID is useful where available.

You may also complain to the data-protection authority competent for your location or the relevant processing. Where Thai law applies, this may include Thailand's Personal Data Protection Committee; where EU/EEA law applies, you may contact the competent supervisory authority in the EU/EEA.

Children's data

PrintCuro is a printer-maintenance utility and is not directed at children. We do not intentionally seek to collect personal data from children for marketing or profiling purposes.

We may update this notice when the service, data practices, providers or applicable legal requirements change. The date at the top of the page shows the current version. Material changes should be highlighted where reasonably appropriate.
