Answers to common questions about resetting your printer's waste ink counter.

My printer isn't detected

Make sure your printer is connected directly to this computer with a USB cable and switched on. If you've just installed the PrintCuro Connector, try refreshing this page. If it's still not found, check that the connector is running (look for it in your system tray).

USB cable required

If your printer was found over Wi-Fi, resets can still only be performed over a direct USB connection — this is for reliability and safety. Connect your printer to this computer with a USB cable (you can leave Wi-Fi enabled too), then click Try again. Nothing about your reset key is affected by this.

My printer isn't supported

We add support for more Epson printer models over time. If your printer shows as "not currently supported for reset," your reset key has not been used — you can check which models are currently supported or try again later.

My reset key doesn't work

This generic message covers several possibilities (already used, not yet valid, expired, or not recognized) so that reset keys cannot be guessed by trial and error. If you believe your key should work, contact support with your order/reference information.

Keep the printer connected during a reset

Do not turn off or disconnect your printer while a reset is in progress. Interrupting the process partway through can leave the operation in an uncertain state.

My reset result couldn't be confirmed

Occasionally we cannot automatically confirm whether a reset completed. In that case your key is placed under review rather than reused automatically, and you'll be given a reference code. Please do not attempt another reset — contact support with your reference code.

Waste ink pad maintenance

Resetting the waste ink counter does not replace or clean the physical waste ink pad. We recommend servicing or replacing the pad — see the "How to replace the waste ink pad" link shown after a successful reset, or visit the waste ink pad help page directly.

Support reference ID

After a completed, failed, or under-review reset you'll see a short reference code (e.g. R-7F4K2M). Include this when contacting support or communicating through eBay so we can look up your transaction quickly.

Advanced / technical troubleshooting

The PrintCuro Connector runs locally on your computer, listens only on 127.0.0.1, and is never reachable from the internet. If your antivirus software blocks it the first time it runs, you may need to allow it. Resets are only ever performed over a direct USB connection, never over Wi-Fi/network — this is a permanent safety rule, not a temporary limitation.
